Not only do [the tutors] have the knowledge that exceeds the curriculum, but [also] the ability to break the material down and teach complex problems both simply and thoroughly. They were beyond flexible and willing to help when asked. They helped me bridge the gap between learning and understanding in order to utilize the material appropriately. My experience with CC Tutors has been extremely effective and helpful.

"...During the course of our tutoring sessions I took the GMAT twice. The first time was a bit of a disappointment. I remember Brent’s reaction was sincerely positive. At the time I wasn’t sure if we could get the amount of work done for a second attempt in time to take the test again before the admissions cut off. Brent assured me that we were going to do it and I was going to get an acceptable score. Following that setback Brent and I ramped up our sessions from 2 hours to 4 hours every other day. I think that he responded well to the challenge.
On my second attempt with Brent my score had improved 70 points. I have since been accepted to [school of my choice] where I am pursuing a [professional master's degree]. I know that if Brent hadn’t responded the way that he did I would not be where I am today. He is unwilling to accept defeat and I am honored to have him as a friend."

I used to spend many hours of the night just sitting at the dining room table, wishing I could make my Math homework disappear! It would frustrate me to no end to look at all these Algebra problems, and see nothing but a foreign, alien-like language. That is until the tutors at Carpenetti Calculus came to my rescue!
It all started with the “take in” session. Here they got to know me a bit, got a good idea of where I was, and I learned a little about CC. From there I matched up with a tutor that would be most beneficial for what I needed help with. At first I had no clue what to expect. I had never been tutored before this, and I figured it would be some continuously awkward moment of the “yeah I still don’t understand what you’re trying to tell me.” You know that feeling when you’re just sitting in class knowing you’re as lost as last year’s Easter egg? Well that never crossed my mind during sessions. There was no tension, or communication barrier that kept me from understanding what I was being taught. Never once did I feel incompetent or silly for asking questions if I didn’t get something right away. The CC tutors know their stuff, and adapt to your own specific way of learning. This way you are moving at a relatively fast and steady pace since you’re catching on so quickly.
I began to get hyped for my sessions, and looked forward to them each week. I was discovering things about Math that I never knew existed. Seeing the concepts in a new light, and knowing how to break it all down into something much easier to work with. During Algebra class if I didn’t understand something I would think to myself, “it’s okay if I don’t get it now, because Alex will show me how to do it at session this week.”
I still remember the first week of tutoring Brent told me that after studying with him I would no longer want to even use a calculator. In my mind I was thinking to myself “THIS GUY MUST BE CRAZY! I love my calculator! Why would I ever want to stop using it?” Sure enough weeks later I could feel the surprise on my face, and see it on his as it dawned on me what I had just said. I thought to myself, “did I really just admit that I never want to use a calculator again?” I had never realized how much of a crutch using one was until I had to do everything for myself. Without it I felt so empowered! CC did that for me. They gave me the help I needed to succeed in something I once saw as a challenge. Now I’m that kid in the class who is yelling out answers, and getting done with their work early just to peer tutor the other kids who may need extra help themselves.
Thank you CC for everything!

"[After three hours with you,] I made [just what I needed] on my [finance] final. If it wasn't for you, I would have made way worse. Thanks for the help."

Do you want the back story or the results first? Either way you slice it, these guys rock.
First, I was greeted in a very professional manner. The intake session set up the right expectations for both me and the tutor. I liked having contracts in place because I knew that meant the work would be taken seriously. The CC intake also helped put me in the right mindset to work my hardest too.
I was studying to retake the ASVAB. I had a 108 and needed a 110 for promotion. The average improvement for retests was only about 5 points nationally. The test was an important “check in the box” and I wanted to make sure I found my 5 points. So, I found CC.
I just took my exam and happily report I only missed three questions. That put my score at 126 out of 132. My command was duly impressed with my 18 point improvement, which is almost four times (4x) better than the national average improvement!!!
The CC administration set the standard, but my personal tutor, Ian, stood head and shoulders above my expectations. Ian took the time to care about me and my performance. This wasn’t just a job for him; he really cared about what was going on during and after our sessions. Ian could identify my strengths and weaknesses and molded with everything I brought to the table. He cared enough to let me struggle with some concepts while he coached me through it. His knowledge, flexibility and approach pushed me to break through so many walls and barriers. When I realized how Ian was fantastic at reading me and seeing where I was at, I began to recognize my own potential to understand and learn more. Ian always pushed us to do one more problem at the end of our scheduled time. We went the extra mile and it paid off.
Working with CC is worth the investment!
